*sigh* I just got done watching a Judge Judy episode, and I gotta say - most of the people that go on that show are raving idiots. I’m not someone that tries to be mean, but come on…they parade around up there trying to sue each other for petty little shit most of the time. Not once have I ever seen anyone on that show with something solid that they’re trying to defend…it’s mostly over small amounts of cash or belongings. I mean, is it really even worth that time, energy, and effort to try to drag someone to court just to get back your camera? (Seriously, I saw someone doing that once). Just let it go! Or at least, that’s what I would do. Why waste the time?
Anyway, on to happier subjects - I’m so excited about Mario party 8 AND the new super Mario (or whatever it’s called) for Wii! I’ve loved those games since back when they first came out. I don’t think Mario is ever going to get old for me - it was so much fun then, and I just know it’s going to be now. :)
LMFAO, I was browsing around Youtube earlier, wasting time, and came across this video. I love it!
Let’s face it, credit cards are pretty much a necessary evil this day in age. There are lots of benefits that come along with having one, and there are just as many negatives to having one.
We don’t have any credit cards in our possession at this moment - and honestly, I’d like to keep it that way. Why, you ask? Well, I have my reasons.
Like so many people today, I witnessed my parents get in credit card debt so badly…I don’t know how they ever made it out of it. I was a lot younger at the time, but I do remember my mother calling me into the kitchen when I was about 8 or 9 years old and asked me if I’d like to help her cut up her credit cards. At that time, I was just thrilled to be helping her - and thrilled to be making a mess! :P I had no idea at that time what was going on. I guess that’s why now my opinion on credit cards is a little biased…
But, I do agree that there are good points to having them - the key is knowing when and how to use your credit for the better. I’ve found that if you’re not totally responsible with your finances, things can get ugly and very quickly.
I’m 19 years old, and I can’t tell you how many credit card applications I’ve gotten in the mail since I turned 18. I never even open them though, because I know that at this point in my life - even though I’m married and I have a son, I’m still not mature enough to hold on to something like that. I wouldn’t trust myself to go out shopping with that thing and ’stay in a limit’. I know it wouldn’t happen. :P
However, online shopping is so big nowadays, a credit card (or a check card) is pretty much a necessity. It’s quick, and it’s easy, and that’s what a lot of people like about credit cards. I can totally relate to this feeling, and when I mature a little more (as far as my finances go) I can almost guarantee I’ll have a credit card!
My point to this whole article is simply to give a little advice. If a credit card is used wisely and the payments can be made, then go for it. Otherwise, BE CAREFUL!! Credit card debt can rack up in a hurry - I’ve seen it happen - and quite frankly, it can really be a bitch to get rid of. Know what you’re spending money on, and don’t put it on credit if you don’t absolutely have to. Don’t use it just because you have one. :)
CardGuide.co.uk has some really great articles and information about credit cards. If you’re looking for one, I would suggest looking at this site first. There are a lot of different types of credit cards, so you should really do your homework and find out which one fits you best. Identity theft is another big issue with credit card holders, so you should also look for one that would help you and not hold you responsible for those purchases. The articles at those two links are very helpful, so I would suggest checking them out as well. :)
As the domain strongly implies, my name is Kristie and I run this joint. I hang my hat in rural Kentucky with my husband and our 4 year old son, where I also work part-time at a restaurant. This is my blog, where I mostly spew sentences of total randomness, with a little humor and sarcasm thrown in for good measure. Welcome.
