Both of you bitches should be in jail

The following articles are taken from the website of my local news station. It’s a grim reminder of just how cold-hearted and callous some people can be. It disturbs me that both of these things happened so close to my home. You can find my comments at the end of each article.
A west Kentucky daycare worker has been fired after police say she left a child alone-inside a hot van.Police aren’t speculating the temperature inside the van, but the day it happened it was 84 degrees outside. The 4 year old was in the van for nearly 20 minutes with very little ventilation.
Paducah police charged 36-year-old Jetun Lisa Palmer with wanton endangerment. The incident happened on May 21st inside a van owned by Shining Starz Daycare.
The Kentucky State Inspector General’s Office says there’s an ongoing investigation against at the Shining Starz Daycare.
“It’s a common sense issue, if you leave a child unattended in a vehicle without any air conditioning or unattended…anything can happen-serious physical injury or even death,” Paducah Police Detective Mike Wentworth said.
Police say luckily that didn’t happen in this case. On May 21st police say Jetun Lisa Palmer left a 4-year-old boy in one of the company vans. The boy was alone inside the car for 20 minutes before he was found. He didn’t need medical help but police say that’s not the problem.
“It was never reported by the owners,” said Detective Wentworth.
Something that’s required by law. Detective Wentworth says the owners should have reported the incident to the Child Care Division of the Inspector General’s Office. He later got an anonymous call and the investigation started. That same caller contacted the Health and Family Services Office.
Soon afterwards, police arrested Palmer on a child endangerment charge. Palmer no longer works for the daycare.
The owners at Shining Starz Daycare wouldn’t comment on the charge and didn’t want to go on camera.
And THAT is the reason why my son will never, EVER, be put in daycare. Ever. I don’t care what I have to do, but I’m never going to put him in the care of someone like her. Like them.
I don’t know what was going through that bitches mind when she left a 4 year old in a scalding hot van. What kind of idiots are doing the screenings and the background checks on the employees of this daycare center? How could they not realize that they had left a child in a van? Or did they just not give a shit what happened to him? Situations like this piss me off to no end. If I were the parents of that child, I’d sue the pants off that entire daycare center, and make sure that the person who abandoned my child would be put behind bars. That’s the most retarded thing I’ve ever heard. Well, with the exception of this next crackbrained mental case.
A West Kentucky woman faces serious charges after she left her toddler home alone for several hours.“To leave them alone for five minutes is bad enough, but we’re talking five to six hours at least that the child was left alone,” says Chief Deputy DeWayne Redmon, with the Graves County Sheriff’s Department.
A young mother behind bars Monday night on child abandonment charges after investigators in Graves County found the toddler alone early Monday morning. Twenty-two year old Geneva Jaehnig of Farmington, Kentucky was arrested after the baby’s father called Sheriff’s Deputies, fearing for his son’s safety.
“It just breaks your heart to think that that little child was left alone,” says Zenette Smith.
Smith lives across the street from 22-year-old Geneva Jaehnig, who’s charged with child abandonment. Police say she left her 15-month-old toddler alone for at least five to six hours. Chief Deputy Redmon told NewsChannel 6 the child’s father called Sheriff’s Deputies after his estranged wife stopped by his home around one o’clock Monday morning while he was at work.
“The wife had told the female there at the residence that they had been giving the child alcohol and beer to drink,” says Chief Deputy Redmon.
Officers went to check the home after the call and say when they got there nobody answered the door. When officers walked around the side of the house they could hear the baby inside the home crying. Officers say they found the back door unlocked and the 15-month-old baby inside the home alone.
“It appeared no one had been there for quite some time due to the condition of his diaper,” says Chief Deputy Redmon, who also says officers stayed at the home for at least an hour to see if anyone would come by or call. No one did.
“The scary part of all this is if the child had gotten out of the bed, wandered outside at 3 in the morning. Could have wandered off in a field, the house is on the main highway (121),” says Chief Deputy Redmon.
Officers took the toddler and left a business card in his bed, hoping Geneva Jaehnig would call. She did at 9 o’clock this morning. Chief Deputy Redmon says the baby might have been alone that long if police had not shown up.
Geneva Jaehnig told Sheriff’s Deputies during her arrest that someone was supposed to be babysitting her son, although that has not yet been confirmed. The toddler has been placed in the custody of his father in Mayfield. Social Service agents are also investigating whether the toddler was given alcohol.

You know what’s sad about this? I knew this girl bitch. I went to school with her - I even had lunch with her a couple of times. I had no idea that she was capable of something like this. Of leaving her own child alone in a house for several hours - obviously not caring what could happen to him. It makes me physically ill. I don’t know what kind of mother could just abandon her own flesh and blood for….anything. Who the hell knows what she was out doing all that time while her 15 month old child was left alone in a house to fend for himself. The child will probably be scarred for a long time to come because of this. Thanks, mommy.
It pains me to know that, not only do things like this occur every day in this country, but these incidents happened close to my home. In my neighborhood. Someone that I know committed one of these cited crimes. It rests heavy on my heart, and my hope for humanity has just dropped a little bit more.
What are your thoughts on these incidents? Has anything like this happened close to you?

Story #1 — One thing I hate about summer is the stories of children being left in cars for extended periods of time. I would never leave my child alone in a car period. I don’t know what these people are thinking…
Story #2 — Never heard of this happening. But again…what was she thinking??? I just hope the alcohol things isn’t true…
And we wonder why some kids are so messed up…just look at their parents…
You never know what situations life will bring to your doorstep - life may put you in a position where you will have to rely on a child care provider. You should not be out right stating that you will never put your child into childcare, simply based on the negative stories that you hear. There are more caring, loving, and respectable caregivers than there are ‘bad’ ones.
I always hate being stereotyped along with the disrespectful childcare providers, the ones you hear about on the news. I take great pride in what I do, expanding my knowledge and experience when working with children. I work not only with children but with their families, and the community in a respectful, loving, caring, and nurturing way. I am proud to say that I am an early childhood educator. Please don’t be thinking that all childcare providers are the same.
That isn’t the first time she had done that to her baby. Justin has told me of it before. She was more then likely out getting high, I don’t know that but who knows. Amanda was just telling me about Geneva tonight when I was over at her house. God only knows what was going through her head. I’m glad Justin has the baby though, he always makes sure that the baby has what he needs and everything. It is a scary place out there. I don’t blame you for now wanting to put Dylan in a daycare center. take care.
I don’t blame you for hating daycare centers so much. Negative stories like that make them sound so scary. But you know, it’s not as if all daycare centers are like that one. I guess, were you to be in a situation where you would need to find a childcare provider, you’d just have to be extremely careful about what kind of center you choose.
As for the second story, that’s beyond amazing to me. It’s weird, thinking that there are people who you used to know out there doing things like that. It’s almost unimaginable.
IN regards to story #1 I wonder why she had the child in the first place? There seems to be no explanation of why he was in the van at all let alone being by himself in the fan.
Story #2 is crazy, the sad thing is she’s probably done it before and hasn’t been caught. Hopefully she loses custody altogeher.
Ugh, these kinds of stories make me sick. I really don’t understand what goes through people’s minds sometimes. :(
