Clothes shopping nightmares

*sigh* Only one more load of laundry to go! Thanks to Josh buying crazy amounts of clothing yesterday afternoon at Old Navy, I started the morning doing laundry. I can’t think of another way I’d like to spend the day! He looks uber smexy in them though, so I guess it’s okay.
I, on the other hand, didn’t buy any clothes at Old Navy, even though I found some really cute sweaters and jeans, and we’ve NEVER been there before. I’m sure you’d all like to know why. Apparently, the Old Navy that we went to yesterday has a problem with fat asses like me. Haha. I browsed the women’s section for about fifteen minutes, picking up things all along the way. Off to the fitting rooms I went, with an armful of clothes, all giddy and excited about getting a couple of new outfits - I just knew they were going to be awesome. You can imagine how pissed off I was when I pulled on the jeans I had picked out (the same size I’ve worn for two years, mind you) only to find that I couldn’t get them passed these child-bearing hips that I’m cursed with - not to mention my big butt. That train just wasn’t going to make it up the track. Oh well, I still had hope for the sweaters, so I discarded the jeans…and scoffed at them a little.
The first sweater was awesome, and just the right size. It even made my boobs looks monstrous and intimidating! I examined them in the mirror, and even I was amazed, despite seeing them every single day of my life. I felt that if I was wearing this sweater and just happened to meet someone new, they would meet my boobs at least five minutes before they met me. Yeah, it was that cool. Unfortunately though, after a few minutes it started to feel very clingy and itchy. I mean really itchy. So, even though it was cute and my boobs were amazing in it, I decided to put it back. I’d rather wear a ratty old t-shirt than wear a cute sweater that itched me to death. As for the second sweater, well, it was alright. The fit was good…only the plunging neckline was a little too much for me. When I bent over even the slightest bit in front of the fitting room mirror, I could see my bra…and that’s just tacky to me. And I was too lazy to go find something to put under it. So, I put that one back too - besides, it just didn’t do my boobs justice. :P
So, I left Old Navy empty handed. Oh well. I’m just glad that at least the boys got some clothes. I figure I’ll go shopping sometime in a store that I’m familiar with…that actually has jeans I can fit into!
I just don’t get it. Can anyone explain to me why women’s sizes vary from brand to brand, but yet my husband wears the same size pants in every brand he’s ever tried? There has to be a logical explanation! :P
In other news, I was tagged by the lovely Jessica! Weee! So here we go!
The Rules:
- Link to your tagger and post these rules.
- Share 7 facts about yourself: some random, some weird.
- Tag 7 people at the end of your post and list their names and link to them.
- Let them know they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment at their blog.
7 random and/or weird things about me:
- When my mother was a few months into her pregnancy with me, her doctor told her it would probably be in her best interest to have me aborted. She was pushing 40, but still refused. Thanks mom! :D
- I once got a terrible stomach bug right after eating a couple of frozen burritos. The sight and smell of them now is so repulsive to me, that I haven’t touched one in almost three years.
- If I’m peeling or chopping potatoes, I always chop up extra and eat them raw with salt. It’s surprisingly tasty.
- I got married when I was fifteen, and had Dylan when I was sixteen.
- I get into watching cartoons almost as much as Dylan does. I find Spongebob to be hysterically funny.
- I don’t wear makeup.
- I’m very emotional at times, and I tend to wear my heart on my sleeves. This has been proven to be a bad thing, but I don’t know what to do about it.
I now tag these lovely ladies!
