Roll it up and smoke it

I hope everyone had a nice Christmas. We did, although now I’m so glad that it’s over. Dylan ended up with tons of Spiderman toys (which is good, since he’s totally into that), and today I’ve mainly been trying to find places to put everything! I have a feeling that I’ll soon have to reorganize Dylan’s room again and get rid of a few things. It’s amazing how much stuff a three year old can hoard in his room over the course of a few months.
My parents stopped by for a couple of hours yesterday afternoon, just to see what Dylan got and to bring him the gifts that they bought for him. My mom baked us a delicious loaf of zucchini bread, and together, she and my dad gave Josh and I a lovely Christmas card. Tucked inside of the card was $25. Awesome! The conversation went as follows:
Me: Wow, $25! Thanks guys, it means a lot to us.
Mom: Well, we didn’t know what to get you, so we decided on cash. You can do whatever you want with it.
Me: Okay, cool…we’ll do that. Thanks Mom.
Mom: *continues* You can save it, spend it, go out to eat…whatever. Or you can buy yourself something with it. Or, you can roll it up and smoke it if you want…isn’t that what the kids do nowadays?
Me: …Uh, now there’s an idea! Though, it probably wouldn’t taste very good. And people don’t use money as rolling papers, as far as I know.
Mom: Well, alright. But you can do whatever you want with it.
Me: Yeah…I got that, thanks Mom.
I love my mom dearly, but some of the things she comes up with really blow my mind. Haha. I think tomorrow I’m going to tell her that I smoked it, just to see what she does. Only if I can keep a straight face, that is.
Today is a big day for me and this website. Kristiegirl.org turned a year old today! I renewed the domain registration and hosting last night, so here’s to me blogging for another year! Or two. Or maybe more!

LOL, your mom sounds very entertaining at times. I’d have laughed my butt off.
lmao! How does she even know about that kind of stuff? :p
I’m glad you had a good Christmas. I was bored. My brother came over though and his new baby is cute. I’ll be adding pics to Flickr.
My son also LOVES Spider-Man. We didn’t get him any though. He already has 6. We bought him the “Thing”I think that’s how it’s spelled. He takes him every where. :D
2008 is only a few days away and I just wanted to wish you a wonderful New Year! ;D
LOL Awesome. Parents just come up with stuff that makes you wonder.
And congratulations on lasting a whole year! I’m so glad you are going to continue blogging!
Haha, you’re mom sounds like she’d be fun to be around .. lots of laughs im sure.
Your mom sounds awesome. Sounds like a whole lot of fun to make fun of. Also, the conversation reminded me of the comic strip “Cathy” for some reason.
zucchini bread? i’ve never heard of that before! is it any good?
I’ve had zucchini parmesan bread before and I rather liked it.
My Mom gave me $4,000 for Christmas. Let’s just say, best.gift.ever.
Hahaha your mom is so cute. I have relative that are the same way. I got $25 from 3 different relatives this year. They give the same present for holidays, birthday, occasions… everything! I guess it’s just what was a great present years ago. My grandmother especially will never realize that $25 doesn’t really get you much nowadays.
The Importance of Living Wills
If you are wondering about how to prepare for the future, it’s a nice idea to consider writing up living wills.
