Wait…what was I doing?

I’ve logged in to Wordpress too many times to count lately, with every intention of blogging. About this, about that, nothing in particular - just simply to blog. In fact, I’ve had this window open for two hours and I’m just now getting around to doing something.
What I’m trying to say is, I get distracted - very easily. When I get online, it’s virtually impossible for me to jump in and start doing exactly what I started out to do. I always start out by doing other things…checking out forums and blogs, checking my email, logging in to Myspace, surfing YouTube, downloading music…you name it. I don’t know what makes me do it, but it happens every single time! I can’t sit down and only do one thing when it comes to being online, I multi-task doing a million different things at once, and not one of them is what I got online for to begin with.
Though, I guess it’s safe to say that it happens to everyone at one point or another. With the whole world at your fingertips and millions upon millions of different websites to check out or learn from, I don’t think even the most focused person could handle it without getting distracted…at least just a little bit…right?
When you’re not doing something constructive online or on the computer in general, where do you find yourself spending the most time? Forums, blogs, playing games, instant messaging? For me, it’s all of the above and then some! There’s always something to see or someone to talk to. I’ve come to love a lot of people on forums that I frequent and blogs that I read almost daily. So maybe being distracted online isn’t such a bad thing after all.
Ooh, lookie! I finally finished what I set out to do! Someone give me an award or a cookie or something? ;)

I usually don’t post often enough anyway for it to count. But I usually am working when I’m on the computer. If I’m not doing actual work, I’m checking up on news sites, twitter, myspace, facebook, and my daily web comics.
And I cruise around wikipedia.org. All. The. Time.

Usually when I log on to the computer I am setting out to something semi-important whether it be do an essay, check some emails, or update my website. I find that 99.9% of the time I spend atleast an hour or more browsing forums, commenting other peoples sites, chatting on MSN or logging on to myspace / facebook.. It’s sad really. But atleast you know you’re not alone :P
