It’s done! It’s done!

7:38 pm · Posted in General

It’s 5:25 pm, and I just now got finished putting the house back in order. It feels so good to have everything put back in its place and to not have toys and coloring books strewn all over the place. All that’s left is two loads of laundry needing to be folded. So, now I’m sitting here chilling out with a tall glass of Sunny Delight. Speaking of which, I haven’t had any of it in ages! I remember almost overdosing on the shit during my first trimester, it was the only thing I wanted to drink…then, I got so sick of it that I couldn’t even stomach to see it sitting in the grocery store. Now, it’s totally yummy again. Raging pregnancy hormones, ftw!

Along with the necessary housework today, I also finally got around to the daunting task of taking down the damned Christmas tree. It took about 45 minutes to take down the ornaments and lights (with Dylan helping, of course…he just has to help with everything), and get them stashed away safely in a box. Then another 10 or 15 minutes to disassemble the tree and cram it back into its box. A few curse words and half of a roll of Duct tape later, we were finished and everything was back in storage. Hallelujah! I love decorating for Christmas, but absolutely loathe putting everything away afterward.

I just got finished chatting with my sister-in-law on MyspaceIM. I feel so bad for them…unfortunately, they have run completely out of propane and have no way to heat the house or cook over the stove. With the exception of a couple of small space heaters in the living room, they have no heat until sometime tomorrow. It’s currently 19°F outside…I just hope they can keep warm. At least my niece is spending the night with my parents tonight, she’s only 2 1/2. I just pray that the gas company can get out to their house bright and early in the morning!

The mandatory day-after-new-years post

12:27 am · Posted in Uncategorized

So, it’s 2008. Anyone get the memo? Er…I think I’m a little late posting about it.

I spent New Year’s Eve at home, watching Intervention on A&E with Josh, and eating pizza. Not your typical New Years Eve activities, but it was still a fun way to bring in the new year. It took everything I had to stay awake long enough to see the ball drop in NYC, then I was out like a light. I act like such an old person sometimes. What 19 year old falls asleep that early on New Year’s Eve?

On that same note, it’s 11:24 pm, and I am utterly exhausted. I feel like I could fall asleep and sleep for days and days…but, I can’t be doing that, there’s so much to be done. On account of the holidays, the housework around here has been severely neglected. Laundry is piled up, and at least half of the toys Dylan got for Christmas are strewn about between his bedroom and the living room. Tomorrow will mostly be devoted to getting things caught up, because I seriously can’t stand for things to be out of order like this, ahhhh!

So, how did all of you ring in the new year?
