Brought to you live from my kitchen table

My husband has been dropping hint after hint for months about how badly he wants a laptop. Though I’ve never disagreed with getting one, I also never agreed with it either. Why would we need two computers? The one we have is less than a year old and works perfectly fine… besides, they can get so expensive.

Though the rational part of his brain was telling him it wasn’t a good idea at the time, the computer god inside of him prevailed on the day we got our tax return back (this past Friday), and well, here I am sitting at the kitchen table blogging about how my husband is a total electronic whorebag. But it takes one to know one right? I could definitely get spoiled by this. Just a few more hours on this baby and I probably won’t ever want to return to the lonely little corner of our bedroom where the desktop sits. *cue sad violin music*

I’m a total laptop virgin. I’ve never used one before now, let alone own one. First time Vista user too, which I must say, is pretty fucking awesome. There’s not a huge difference between Vista and XP (not that I’ve seen yet, anyway) but I do like the sleek style of it as opposed to XP. It will still take some getting used to, of course.

If only I could find where the hell I put my Paint Shop Pro installation CD. If I could have PSP on this sucker, then there’d definitely be no going back. But unfortunately, it’s been over a year since I’ve used it, and I have no clue where it could be. Dammit.

Nevertheless, I’m excited to do more of this ‘kitchen blogging’ as I never knew that blogging, or doing anything online for that matter, was much more exciting when you had the ability to do it from wherever you wanted. It must have something to do with the sense of freedom…as in you’re no longer contained to the four walls of your office, bedroom, etc. and are free to surf the ‘net from any room in the house. As long as your internet connection holds out, that is. ;)

So whether you have a laptop/notebook, or just simply just want one really bad, what are the things you look for before purchasing? What’s your favorite OS? Also, where in your house is your favorite spot to get online?
