I’m back, baby

11:11 pm · Posted in Entertainment, General

After a long week and a half without blogging, and working my ass off on this unfortunately shoddy theme, I’m back online. Although I’m happy to be spreading the word about breast cancer awareness this month of October, I’m really not happy with how this theme turned out, or how long it took me to get it up. After updating to version 2.2.2, some of my activated, and IMO, very important plug-ins weren’t compatible, therefore leaving me to find alternatives (which is very time consuming, FYI), or just leave them out altogether and say to hell with it. I mostly chose the latter, as it was taking long enough to get things to work right as it was. I haven’t even gotten the chance to validate my coding yet. I’m so fed up with everything right now that I might just forget about it until next month. *sigh* Oh well, YAY for breast cancer awareness, anyway.

This hopefully won’t happen again. I hate to have my site down for prolonged periods of time, especially after having announced to my readers that it wouldn’t take long to get things running smoothly again. Next month, I’m going to be prepared, and start preparations for November’s theme within the next week or two. But for now, I don’t want to think about anything involving themes, plug-ins, stylesheets, XHTML validation, or even Wordpress in general. I plan to finish up this post and call it a night.

In other news, Josh got Xbox Live the other day, and he’s been playing it like crazy. Halo 3 is his new obsession, and takes up the majority of his nighttime hours. It’s alright though, I really don’t mind - in fact, I’m glad he’s found something that he enjoys doing. Hell, I enjoy watching him play it, and seeing the interactions between him and the other players. There’s nothing like listening to a twelve year old singing “Crank dat Soulja Boy” into the headset for the world to hear between games. Good times.

One of my co-workers ended up quitting work yesterday afternoon, therefore freeing up a few extra hours a week for…guess who? Me! I’m happy about it, obviously for the extra money (the holiday season is coming up…yikes), but it also sucks in a way because I am a TOTAL homebody. I’d rather be at home than anywhere else most of the time. Ah well, I guess that’s why they call it work. It’s not supposed to be fun. :P Speaking of work, one of my redneck relatives (they’re mentioned in my last post) came up to the restaurant today harassing my sister-in-law, asking her for pills. Yeah, the same person who is suspected of stealing pain meds from my grandmother about a week ago. It pissed me off so bad, but there was really nothing to do about it. That’s why I have this blog. So I can bitch and moan about stuff like that.

Anyway, that’s about it for me. I’m gonna call it a night and wrap this up. Goodnight!

Gotta get my butt in gear

9:31 pm · Posted in Entertainment

My oh my, it’s been a long week. Seriously. If I haven’t been working, then that means the boys and I have been spending some quality time together, or I’m just too tired to think of interesting things to blog about. :P Either way, I haven’t been here.

Josh got a Xbox 360 the other day from work. It’s bad ass - and that’s coming from someone who rarely plays video games. Tonight while we were in town, he insisted on buying Dead Rising for it, and is playing it now. Just hearing it being played in the living room gives me chills, as I am absolutely terrified of any and all things relating to zombies. Even as fictitious as they are, I am seriously hesitant to walk in there and take a chance on seeing one. I know, it’s just a video game, but I guess it’s just the thought of the possibility of it really occurring in real life that I’m afraid of. I can’t wait until a few of the games that I’m interested in playing are released. :D I’m really excited about Super Mario Galaxy (for Wii), Mario Kart Wii, and Grand Theft Auto IV (for 360). I guess along with being an internet nerd, I’m also secretly a gamer at heart. Who knew?

Unfortunately, instead of having my mind on crazy awesome things like blogging and playing video games, what I really need to be concentrating on is getting our house organized! It’s unbelievably unorganized, and the clutter has really snuck up on me. Dylan’s room has officially become a disaster area. He has tons and tons of toys that he insists on leaving in the middle of the room, most of which he has outgrown and gotten bored with. His dresser drawers are nothing to brag about either. He also has tons of clothes, again, most of which he has outgrown. I’ve been putting it off and putting it off, but it’s really time that I organize his room, closet, and all of the other areas of the house that have become ‘dumping grounds’ for all of our unwanted junk. Man, I hate clutter.

I’d love to hear some tips on how you guys keep things organized around your houses. Do you have special bins to keep toys? A bill box? Anything will be helpful in my quest for organization. :) Wish me luck.
